They are both found along Tana River. The unusual Hunter's hartebeest is guarded in the Arawale National Reserve. The Primate Reserve protects the crested mangabey and the red colobus monkey. The Grevy's zebra, Masai giraffe and reticulated giraffe can also be seen here. This park also contains rare plants and insects. Both sanctuaries are found in remote areas and due to their difficult in accessibility are not very popular.
