Kakamega Forest Park

This is the only tropical rain forest in Kenya and it is situated in the western Kenya, 402 kilometers from Nairobi. This forest consists of some greatest hard and soft woods in Africa like the red and white stink woods, Elgon teak, different types of Croton and Aniageria Altisima. Some of these rainforest trees are over 100 years old. What makes this forest more beautiful are the flowers which shine best during rainy season (April - July). Visitors to this forest can see the Black and White Colobus monkeys. In the adjacent Kisere forest one can see the De Brazza monkeys with their distinctive white beard. Other rare species of primates seen here include the Olive Baboon, Blue monkey, and the Red Tailed Monkey.
