Mount Kenya National Park constitutes all those areas of Mount Kenya above 3200 meters. The park preserves large area of the mountain forests, bamboo thickets, alpine moorlands and glaciers, glacial moraines and tarns. Game-watching, mountain climbing, forest-trekking are some of the activities provided by the lodges and camps located within the reserve. Mount Kenya Safari Club is located near Nanyuki town which on the northern slopes of mount Kenya. It was built by by the famous actor William Holden and includes the Mount Kenya Game Ranch and William Holden Wildlife Education Centre. At the Mount Kenya Safari Club's animal orphanage one can see the rare bongo antelope. In this area one gets a better opportunity to see the giant forest hog. The animals found within this region are the elephant, bushbuck, buffalo, bushduiker and luckily the leopard. Accommodation is available in the Hotels and lodges within the park.
