To the southern part of Lake Turkana is the South Island which like the Central Island, a National Park was established to protect the breeding ground for the Nile Crocodile, Hippos and snakes like the Cobra, sand Vipers and Puff adders. Accessibility is possible through Loiyangalani and then hire a motor boat from the nearby lodge. Other attractions include bird-watching and camping safaris.
