Pilli-Pipa Dhow Safaris The owners of Pilli-Pipa, Selina and Harm, are both qualified PADI MSDT Dive Instructors and Medic First Aid Instructors with numerous specialities. Selina has a BSc. Hons in Marine Biology with a Masters degree in Aquaculture from Stirling University. They have both worked as dive instructors in many countries including Jamaica, Thailand, Malta, England (brrr!), Holland and Kenya before settling on Wasini Island about 80 kilometers south of Mombasa, not far from the Tanzania border.Pilli-Pipa offers diving, either as part of the day trip or as a package. It is possible to do the PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE or ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE and stay on Wasini Island, a beautiful Robinson Crusoe style retreat with an amazing view over the Wasini Channel, no electricity or running water in low cost accommodation. Or, stay in the Pemba Channel Fishing Club (PCFC) over on the mainland as a more luxurious alternative.

Pilli-Pipa Dhow Safaris Our guests are basically taken through the equivalent of the PADI Discover Snorkelling Lesson, being shown the best way to use the equipment. We supply buoyancy jackets for less confident swimmers and children, twin-valve snorkels with comfit mouthpieces for easier snorkelling. A wider range of silicone masks for better fit and prescription masks are available for -3, -4.5, -5, -6, 6.5, -7. Guests are guided along the reef by experienced marine guides and usually either Harm or Selina are on the boat. PADI certification is available at the end of the day at a small additional charge if you would like to show the family back at home your achievement. For more datails Contact Pilli-Pipa at the above address |
